Irreales del Monte es un dúo chileno formado por Cristián Sánchez (Asunción, el diAblo es un magnífico, La Golden Acapulco) y Antonio Aldunate (el diAblo es un magnífico, Ronaldo). Antonio Aldunate toca la guitarra acústica y Cristián Sánchez se encarga de los sintetizadores, sampler y grabaciones de campo.

La carátula del disco de “Historia Natural” muestra un paisaje casi desértico del Valle Central de Chile, donde hay una tierra vasta y desolada a la que me dejo transportar mientras escucho “Sol y baguales” de casi 21 minutos de duración. Los acordes de la guitarra despliegan su talante parsimonioso que, en la medida que avanza la canción se desvanecen. Mientras, asoma el drone de una bella nota sintetizada ambiental que queda suspendida en el espacio. En “Espejismos nocturnos” las texturas electrónicas son densas y ligeramente ruidosas, como si fuera el soplido del viento que ensombrece con su misterio. Mientras la guitarra teje bellas melodías haciendo gala del género americana y avant-folk. Finaliza el álbum con “Sierra Los Olmos” cuya atmósfera prístina y apacible es acompañada por el canto de pájaros y el inconfundible ritmo cansino de la guitarra. 

“Historia Natural” es un álbum equilibrado, donde cada una de las canciones crea bellos paisajes sonoros.

Irreales del Monte is a Chilean duo formed by Cristián Sánchez (Asunción, el diAblo es un magnífico, La Golden Acapulco) and Antonio Aldunate (el diAblo es un magnífico, Ronaldo). Antonio Aldunate plays the acoustic guitar and Cristián Sánchez is in charge of the synthesizers, sampler and field recordings.

The art cover of the “Historia Natural” album shows an almost desert landscape of the Central Valley of Chile, where there is a vast and forlorn land to which I allow myself to be transported while listening to ‘Sol y baguales’ which is almost 21 minutes long. The guitar chords display their parsimonious mood that fades as the song progresses. Whereas, the drone of a beautiful ambient synthesized notes appears and remains suspended in space. In ‘Espejismos nocturnos’ the electronic textures are dense and slightly noisy, as if it were the wind blowing that darkens with its mystery. While the guitar weaves beautiful melodies showing off the Americana and avant-folk genres. The album ends with 'Sierra Los Olmos' whose pristine and peaceful atmosphere is accompanied by bird chirps and the unmistakable weary rhythm of the guitar.

'Historia Natural' is a balanced album, where each of the songs creates mesmerizing soundscapes.
