Gabriel Saloman | 'Movement Building Vol.1' | Shelter Press | 2014

Gabriel Saloman is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, Canada working in sound, text, multimedia and unfold in various activities such as sound installations, web projects, live performances, music recordings, spatial intervention and composes for contemporary dance. Salomon is known as a former member of the Yellow Swans by Pete Swanson.
Saloman has created the 'Movement Building' series to be published by Shelter Press in order to made available what he has composed music for plays choreography.
'Building Movement Vol.1' was composed by Salomon for Daisy Karen's 'Re-Marks on Source Material' choreography.
The music on 'The Disciplined Body' is disturbing and dark, with long drones, bright and expansive guitar, bowed strings, martial percussion (soft rumble of drums and tribal rhythms).
On 'The Disciplined Body (part 2)' expansive guitar effects are present with greater emphasis and approaches the ambient metal trimmed of Godspeed You Black Emperor or Aidan Baker / Nadja. These two pieces are away Yellow Swans noise.
