‘Sounds of
Iceland’ es una nueva entrega del sello alemán Gruenrekorder que corresponde a
su serie ‘Fields Recordings’ y en esta oportunidad se presenta el trabajo de la
islandesa Hafdís Bjarnadóttir quien vive y trabaja en Reykjavík.
‘Sounds of
Iceland’ comprende grabaciones de campo realizadas en un viaje alrededor de
Islandia que comienza al oeste de la isla a principios de la primavera y
continua por los Fiordos del Oeste, ruta que atraviesa el norte de Islandia y a
esta altura del viaje ya era verano. Luego sigue la travesía por las tierras
altas del interior, haciendo antes una breve parada por los fiordos del este. Cuando
el viaje llegaba a su punto de origen, llegaban el otoño e invierno.
El sonido de la
fuerza de las olas, el canto de las aves, cascadas de agua son una buena fuente
que transmite y evoca la rica geografía y naturaleza de Islandia.

'Sounds of Iceland' is a new release of
German Gruenrekorder label that belongs to the ‘Field Recordings’ series and now
features the work of Icelandic sound artist Hafdís Bjarnadóttir who lives and works in Reykjavík.
'Sounds of Iceland' includes field
recordings made on a trip around Iceland which begins west of the island in
early spring and continues for the West Fjords, route through northern Iceland
and at this point of the trip it was summer time. Then follows the journey
through the interior highlands, before making a brief stop by the East Fjords.
When the tour reached its point of origin, came fall and winter.
The sound of the strength of the waves, the
singing of birds, and waterfalls are a good source that transmits and conjure-up
the rich geography and nature of Iceland.
