Este es un nuevo trabajo del prolífico
artista alemán que se desarrolla en los géneros de las grabaciones de campo y
audio arte. Etzin tiene una buena cantidad de discos en Gruenrekorder, sello
del que es co-fundador junto al artista
sonoro Lasse-Marc Riek.
“Sonic Drawings” se enmarca en la serie de Arte Sonoro
del sello. A la pregunta que plantea Etzin “¿Qué efectos tienen el silencio y
el ruido?” Me parece que los efectos serían según qué representaciones
perceptuales tenemos más disponibles, si es lo visual, auditivo o kinestésico
(emociones, tacto). En consecuencia el sonido o silencio una persona puede
asociarlo a una imagen, o al escuchar, a una interpretación sobre lo que
escucha, o bien experimentar un estado emocional de alegría, pena, rabia, amor,
etc.
“Sonic Drawings” contiene objetos encontrados en Italia,
Irlanda, Alemania, utilizando diferentes tipos de micrófonos, dispositivos
analógicos y digitales e instrumentos auto fabricados.
“Wand” (pared) podemos escuchar a
una máquina que no logro distinguir de qué se trata, pero es un ruido mecánico
y repetitivo.
En ”Vinschgau” hay campanillas, voces de personas
conversando, el ruido del motor de alguna máquina, pájaros y emerge del fondo a
la superficie una penetrante y oscura línea de sintetizador que está al borde
de la saturación.
“Wasser” nos muestra sonidos de agua junto a ruidos
estáticos y “Garten” continúa con la veta oscura del anterior tema.

This is a new piece of prolific
German artist who develops his woork in the genres of field recordings and
audio art. He has a string of releases on Gruenrekorder, a record label co-founder member alongwith
sound artist Lasse-Marc Riek.
"Sonic Drawings" is part of the label series of
Sound Art. To the question posed by Etzin "What effects do silence and
noise have?" I think the effects would be depending on what perceptual
representations we have more available, if the visual, auditory or kinesthetic
(emotions, touch). Consequently the sound or silence, a human being can
associate it with an image, or listening and therefore have an interpretation
of what he/she hears, or experience an emotional state of joy, sorrow, anger,
love, etc.
“Sonic Drawings” contains found sounds collected in
Italy, Ireland, Germany; “using several kinds of microphones, analog &
digital machines and self built instruments”.
On “Wand” (wall) we can listen to a machine but I’m not
sure which kind is, and recognize a mechanical and repetitive noise.
On "Vinschgau" there are bells, voices of
people talking, engine noise of a machine, birds and emerges as a backdrop to
the surface a penetrating dark synth line that is on the edge of saturation.
"Wasser" shows water sounds with static noises
and “Garten” continues in the dark vein of the previous track.
