Tercer disco del
cineasta, artista visual, productor y compositor residente en San Francisco Marc
Kate que trabaja la cinemática y conceptos en la música y producción de audio.
La nota que escribe Kate en
relación al contexto en el que compone este disco, se refiere al lamentable
cambio político que está comenzando a experimentar Estados Unidos – y también
el mundo – con el impredecible y controvertido nuevo inquilino en la Casa
Blanca.
La carátula del álbum cuando en
“Despairer” [Failing Forms, 2016] mostraba al propio Kate embadurnado con una
masa blanca, ahora en “00” aparece con una alusa foil con un fondo negro. Y
claro, la música ahora es más oscura con atisbos a la música post-industrial
con una percusión apabullante, drones penetrantes e inquietante atmósfera.
Menos armónico que “Despairer” sino que más sombrío y texturas gruesas y
ruidosas.
“00” espero que no sea un presagio
de los cambios que vienen en el mundo.

Third installment of filmmaker,
visual artist, producer and composer based in San Francisco Marc Kate who works
on cinematic and concepts approaches to music and audio production.
The liner notes that Kate writes
about the context in which he composed this album, refers to the regrettable
political change that is beginning to experience the United States and the
world too - with the unpredictable and controversial new tenant in the White
House.
"Despairer" [Failing
Forms, 2016] album cover showed Kate himself smeared with a white mass, now on
"00" appears with an alusa foil and a black background. And of
course, the music is now darker with glimpses of post-industrial music with
overwhelming percussion, penetrating drones and haunting atmosphere. Less
harmonic than "Despairer" but more shady and thick and noisy textures.
I hope “00” it is not a presage of
the changes that will likely to come in the world.
