Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie | “Salero” | Erased Tape Records | 2017

American composer and sound engineer Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie plays piano and guitar and is the founding member of seminal ambient Stars Of The Lid, The Dead Texan, Aix Em Klemm, Sleepingdog, A Winged Victory For The Sullen and works also under his own name as a solo artist.
Wiltzie has composed the score of several films and is now the case with "Salero", first length documentary by director Mike Plunkett that takes place in Bolivia, in Salar de Uyuni, the largest in the world, a huge, immense and solitary, whose only human beings were for generations, the "Saleros", people who are engaged in the trade of salt.
"Salero" consist of fourteen compositions of ambient music, along with a piano and guitar, and arrangement by a small string ensemble recorded in Brussels and a large string orchestra recordings at Magyar Radio Studio #22 with the Budapest Art Orchestra.
Wiltzie comments in the liner notes that for him it is much easier to compose music when he has beautiful images to be inspired and how this vast salar defines the identity of the people living in its surroundings. And of course this is reflected in the beautiful and gorgeous music that he gives to us.
