Yotam Avni | “Perlude to Dybbuk” | Stroboscopic Artefacts | 2018

Producer, remixer and DJ of Tel Avi is one of the key figures in the electronic scene in his country who has released his second album for Stroboscopic Artefacts.
"Prelude to Dybbuk" is related to an ancient Hebrew folklore and this influence is embodied in this 12-inch through chants with glimpses of the Middle East.
This 12-inch consists of three tracks and the opener "Avka (New Life)" deploys an hypnotic beat accompanied by a subtle tribal percussion along with next pleasant ambience lines. Some acid vignettes are added to this sound palette.
"Dybbuk" is a very different proposal "Avka (New Life)" and "Modern Matters", mechanistic with nervous beat beats.
Finally, "Modern Matters" is definitely geared towards the dance floor. Hard and consistent bass drum hard along with a song with Middle East influence that gives a captivating air. West and East meet under the Techno beat.
