Tyler Potts, “The Deluge”, Dragons Eye Recordings, 2007

Tyler Potts, ‘The Deluge’, Dragons Eye Recordings, 2007

This it is the second release of Tyler Potts on Dragons Eye Recordings, a label based in Seattle devoted to experimental electronic music and of which in this site had been reviewed the works of Yann Novak and Wyndel Hunt.
Potts comes from Denver where he got his BFA Electronic Media Art and design. From his interest in art, design and performance, he start making music and completed his first album ‘Music for Dance + 52 Songs’ which is a double CD in the second disc [disc one in audio format and disc two in MP3 format].
‘The Deluge’ offers a combination of synthetic and organic sounds with a variety of instruments such as xylophones, tapes, toy keyboards and guitars. The result are shimmering ring tones, fragile percussion creating a playful and mesmerizing atmosphere.
The melancholy spreads all over the album and in my opinion ‘Charting’ with its toy keyboard beautiful notes, it summarizes the Potts’s fineness.
