Ex-Vibracathedral Orchestra’s Neil Campbell entrega un nuevo disco en VHF Records entre otras serie de entregas en diferentes formatos en sellos como Trensmat, Qbico, Important Records y en su propio sello Astral Social Club, además de trabajos bajo su propio nombre y en varios proyectos.
La música electronica de baile de Campbell’s viene en mi opinión de la tradición acid house de principios de los noventa, cuando la mayoría de fiestas eran difundidas de boca en boca y tribus urbanas como Spiral Tribe anunciaban una nueva era en la música moderna de baile.
“Octuplex” fue grabado entre 2006 y 2008 con la colaboración de Philip Smith, John Clyde-Evans, Stewart Keith, Magnus Campbell, Spencer Grady, Richard Youngs, Spider Stacy y Procrane Split.
Sus líneas acid, filudas guitarras y punzantes beats sofocan con largos pasajes de una convulsa electrónica. También hay tiempo para disfrutar de zonas ambientales que se despliegan a través de quietas atmósferas, incluyendo acordes de guitarra acústica y flautas con influencias del medio oriente.

Ex-Vibracathedral Orchestra’s Neil Campbell delivers a new album on VHF Records among the string of releases indifferent formats in labels like Trensmat, Qbico, Important Records and in his own Astral Social Club imprint, plus works under his own name and in various projects.
Campbell’s electronic dance music comes from the acid house tradition in the early nineties when most of the parties were spread by word of mouth, and urban tribes in the likes of Spiral Tribe were announcing a new era in modern dance music.
“Octuplex” was recorded between 2006 and 2008 with the collaboration of Philip Smith, John Clyde-Evans, Stewart Keith, Magnus Campbell, Spencer Grady, Richard Youngs, Spider Stacy, and Procrane Split.
His acid lines, crunching guitars and punching beats squelch with long passages of hovering electronics. Also there is time to enjoy ambient zones that scatter through quiet atmospheres including acoustic guitar chords and flutes with Middle Eastern influences.
