Greg Malcolm a well-known guitarist that comes from New Zealand who has been active since the mid 80’s and guitarist legend Canadian born and New York based music composer and writer Eugene Chadbourne whose career is over 30 years.
This collaboration was recorded in New Zealand during Chadbourne’s tour in January 2009 released by Poland’s MonotypeRec label on LP format.
“Jazz School” is an improvisation session between these artists on acoustic and electric guitar doing interpretations of Steve Lacy and Eric Dolphy pieces.
There are hints of jazz, blues and rock here combined with gentle guitars that only is interrupted by the guitar riffs in the last track of the album.
