Vibracathedral Orchestra, “The Secret Base”, VHF, 2010

Vibracathedral Orchestra, “The Secret Base”, VHF, 2010

This is second of three new lp’s (‘Joka Baya’ and ‘Smoke Song’) from Vibracathedral Orchestra which is now reconstituited as a quartet, with John Godbert and John Moloney alongwith Mike Flower and Adam Davenport.
“The Secret Base” starts with Flower’s Japan banjo very noisy and a guitar riff as a backdrop. "If You Can't Smoke 'Em, Sell 'Em" is a Can like monotonous rhythm and whips of analogue synth that last after 13 minutes.
“Eyes of Wood” is like a Tibetan chant with echoes of vocals and a splattering session of percussion and strings.
