Regolith | 'And…' | Running on Air | 2012

Regolith | 'And…' | Running on Air | 2012

Graeme Ross and David Graham Regolith are based in London and formed Regolith in 2005 and since then they have six releases and two collaborations. Both Ross and Graham have their own solo and band projects.
Regolith's music is an amalgam of experimental electronic and minimalist elements of neoclassical music. The result may well be abstract but is essentially melodic. Although there are some glitches, clicks and repetition of sounds.
Each of the tracks represents soundscapes that conjure up different images. 'In Darkness and Distance' is a soundtrack of a dark film, 'Another Orphan' invite us to a calm trip and 'A Thousand Crashing Cars' is a journey into the cosmic corridors of the '70s.
'Runs' is noisy and disturbing from the mechanical and those more undulating sounds.
'The Way Out' which closes the album could be the epic music for a piece of art with these beautiful bells that give a solemn nuance while the acoustic instruments create proximity and nostalgia. All this intervened with surround sound.
Regolith's music is extremely nostalgic and beautiful.
