West Palm Beach student invents drink spiking prevention device
A local teenager invented a potentially life-saving product. Shirah Benarde, a 17-year-old student at Oxbridge Academy, is the creator of Nightcap, a device that aims to stop drink spiking in bars, clubs, restaurants even in college towns. “It’s a serious problem, especially in Palm Beach County. It happens all the time here, that I’ve heard of. It’s really important for people to just know about the problem,” the 17-year-old said. Nightcap is easy and convenient to use.
