DESCRIPTION Adhesive Pot holder for 3 'Tamiya Extra Thin' Size bottles, to provide a convenient organiser & to prevent knocking the pots over while building. The handle rotates and has tabs which hold the pots in place. Version 2.0 is a development of my original Adhesive Pot holder which has a Separate Tab part, a MrHobby pot Version, a Handle Stop option, and an Improved Tab design. FOREWORD After sharing my original Adhesive Pot holder design, I only saw a few downloads in the first year, with no comments or makes posted. I did play round with a few changes but eventually I lost interest and forgot about it. I then saw it mention by a Popular Modeller on his channel and then over the next year the number of downloads went up enormously. So it seems like its time to make some improvements from the original Version 1. DESIGN NOTES For the V1 Adhesive Pot holder, I was never completely happy with the Tab design. If the tabs broke you had to print a whole New base part (a fairly long print). I tested the original design with multiple prints and found it worked well once you had your print settings sorted. But its pretty hard if you need to keep printing the full holder to test you settings. So for this version I have made the Tabs a separate part held in with 2 small screws. I have also redesigned the Tabs. I have printed a number of these out of a lot of different PLA brands and it works for me. However that's not to say I haven't broken any, but I haven't found any PLA I couldn't make to work by adjusting print settings. If you break a Tab, I suggest increasing your print Temp by 5 degrees and try again. I have also included a version based on the original Tab design in case anyone got on better with that, however that won't work with the handle that has Open/Closed stops. Handle turn stops The new handle has the option of Open/Closed stops, this works because the New Tab design has 3 tabs at 120 degree spacing. The partial print photo (In green PLA) above, shows the stops. This is optional, I think I prefer to freely turn the handle myself (the NO-STOPS version). Mr Hobby Pots Version The Mr Hobby size Pots are quite popular at the moment, with several versions of adhesive, decal solutions etc. So I have done a version to fit these Pots which have different dimensions, the taller size requires a taller handle also. ASSEMBLY NOTES Print out Parts A, B, and the Tabs Part from PLA, all at 0.2mm layer height, 10-20% infill for Parts A & B, 50% infill for the Tab part. Fit the Tab part into the base Part A, ensuring that there aren't any artefacts (blobs) preventing the Tab part from fitting in flush with the top. Press on the handle so that it clicks into place. If you choose the handle with Open/Closed stops, make sure these are NOT inline with the tabs as you press it on. Keep the handle vertical as you press down (not leaning at an angle), it does require quite a bit of force. Finally secure the Tabs to the base with 2 small screws. For Screws I used M2 (2mm dia) x 4mm long Philips head screws, any small 2mm screw would work between 4-6mm long, or a small tapping screw. The handle may be stiff initially, work the handle a few times & it will bed in & loosen up.
