El músico de origen turco, radicado en San Francisco, California, Taner Torun creó el proyecto Celestial Trails en el verano de 2023, debutando en 2024 con el álbum “Lunar Beachcomber”.
Torun gestiona el sello Fluttery Records que fundó en 2008 y en el que publica música post-rock, ambiental y clásica moderna desde 2008. También realiza masterización y diseña las portadas de los álbumes del sello y para otros artistas.
La música de Celestial Trails se desarrolla dentro del neoclásico y el ambient, creando capas orgánicas con elementos de la electroacústica, junto a grabaciones de campo y diseño digital.
Torun ha realizado largas caminatas por distintos lugares de Estados Unidos, encontrándose vastos espacios con una exuberante naturaleza, así como paisajes urbanos. Es también un apasionado de los misterios que depara el cosmos. En esta conjunción, en la que se encuentran la bella vida de la naturaleza y el inmenso enigma que representa el cosmos, son las fuentes de inspiración para la composición de “Lunar Beachcomber…” Es así como se escuchan grabaciones del oleaje del mar en “Lighthouse Behind the Glowing Tree”, cuyo sonido revela bordes distorsionados y sucios que continúan en “Lunar Beachcomber” para finalmente convertirse en polvo. En “The Crudest Luminescence” los clicks son parte de la piel rugosa que arropa esta canción y otro de los delicados matices que tiene este disco. La guitarra suelta su línea melódica expansiva y envolvente en el track final “Touchdown on Interstellar Shores” que cierra un álbum que se acaricia por sus texturas y amplitud de espacio que nos permite observar desde arriba las oníricas atmósferas que crea Taner Torun.
The musician of Turkish origin, based in San Francisco, California, Taner Torun created the Celestial Trails project in the summer of 2023, debuting with the album “Lunar Beachcomber”.
Torun runs the label Fluttery Records which he founded in 2008 releasing post-rock, ambient and modern classical music since 2008. He also does mastering and designs album covers for the label and for other artists.
Celestial Trails’ music unfold neoclassical and ambient music, creating organic layers with electroacoustic elements, along with field recordings and digital design.
Torun has taken long hikes through different places in the United States, finding vast spaces with exuberant nature, as well as urban landscapes. He is also passionate about the mysteries that the cosmos holds. In this conjunction, in which the beautiful life of nature and the immense enigma that the cosmos represents, are the sources of inspiration for the composition of “Lunar Beachcomber…” This is how the sea waves recordings are heard. In “Lighthouse Behind the Glowing Tree,” the sound unveils distorted, dirty edges that continue into “Lunar Beachcomber” to finally turn to dust. In “The Crudest Luminescence” the clicks are part of the rough skin that covers this song and another of the delicate nuances that this album offers. The guitar releases its expansive and enveloping melodic line in the final track “Touchdown on Interstellar Shores,” that closes an album that is caressed by its textures and spaciousness that allows us to observe from above the dreamlike atmospheres that Taner Torun creates.
