Jean-Louis Huhta, “Halfway Between The World and Death”, Slottet, 2007

Jean-Louis Huhta, 'Halfway Between The World and Death', Slottet, 2007

Además participa en The Stonefunkers y Lucky People Center.
Las canciones en “Halfway Between The World and Death” tienen una carga emocional cercana a la melancolía.

Jean-Louis Huhta is a Swedish artist who plays a key role in the alternative music scene in Sweden. His discography consist in four albums, with an important number of collaborations, compilation appearances, mixes and remixes and run several projects like Audio Laboratory, the rock band Skull Defekts, the techno-dub duo Brommage Dub alongwith Jesper Dahlbäck, member also of the Ocsid trio, together with Carl Michael Von Hausswolff [sound artist interviewed on loop] and Graham Lewis former bassist for Wire. In addition he participates in The Stonefunkers and Lucky People Center.
The songs on ‘Halfway Between The World and Death’ have a feeling close to melancholy. Sometimes seems to me to be listening the acoustic facets of Echoe & The Bunnymen or The Cure, blending the sound of Minimal Compact. Perhaps this influence comes from his participation in the early 80s post-punk band Cortex. The eighties atmosphere is appreciated almost in the whole album. Also at other moments the glitch genre has an ancestry in those tracks of digital noise.
However, the mixture of styles is interesting. Perhaps thus it defines an astonish album and attractive like. Just listen 'Each Day' and you will find out why.
